| Just catching up on all the posts and would like to add my two bits worth. I grew up in the Stony Creek area in

the late 40's and most of the 50's. It was an absolute paradise to a skinny minnie like me. What grand and

glorious adventures we had! However, as we know, the Park and Forest are not the same, nor will they ever be.
I'm so grateful I knew them when there was no political correctness, they were not over-crowded, and a kid
could wander in the wilds without fear. The biggest thing we had to worry about were the bears that the Park
Service would trap and then dump into the Stony Creek Campground! (Also the chemical out house was not the
best but we managed!) The mountains got into my blood; may they ever stay.
