When I went to C.O.S. in 1961, some friends and I hired ourselves to work at Giant Forest Village on the weekends. It has been so long ago that I don't remember how many times I did go, but I remember some of our activities so clearly.

The snow was so deep on one occasion that there was a tunnel thru it, as we had to go from one side of the main road to the other. I worked both as a maid, cleaning and changing beds etc., and as a waitress at the restaurant. I was only about 17 years old, and it was quite an adventure, all of us wild college kids living in a dorm setting. When the snow was quite high, some of us jumped out the 2nd story window into the snowbank.
